Elsa Williams was the best. Right now her wonderful old kits are only available for sale in places like eBay and Etsy. Here I plan to post photos of the completed pictures and pillows that I have collected, as well as some photos of kits that I particularly enjoy. If I find a special bargain on a vintage kit that I am not going to take advantage of, I will post it here too. And I hope you will do so as well.
No two of the finished pieces look the same, even though they came from the same linen, yarn, and pattern. So
please post your treasured embroidery here for all to enjoy. I will
start by posting a photo of a completed version of my favorite kit,
"Tree of Enchantment," which I found in a NH antique store last summer.
This is a version of the lamb from a finished piece posted on Etsy.
I have to post the squirrel pictures as well. They're so fuzzy.
Please, please, please contact me. I made this for my mother when I was 14 and thought I had lost it when her house burnt down. My brother had someone come in and clean out the house prior to his getting it ready for sale. It's a long story, but I am besides myself finding this. I can't tell you how much it would mean to me to have this piece back. My mom lived in Damariscotta, ME so it showing up in NH makes sense. I started looking for kits to remake it because I've never gotten over losing it. That is when I came across this. I so look forward to hearing from you.
